Projects in Motion Ltd. (PiM) is a multidisciplinary research organisation and cluster platform based in Malta.
Here at PiM we undertake EU funded development projects and conduct research for European and local government bodies, major companies and SMEs via a cluster approach. PiM strives to participate or manage collaborative projects with distributed resources, which cover innovative issues related to information communication technologies (ICT), renewable energy sources and social studies, mostly through transnational cooperation or directed towards capacity building for R&D and policy.
One of our strength points is in managing EU project dissemination efforts.
Focus on Research and Development
We recognise that developing a commercially viable new service or products takes more than just a good idea. It involves innovative industrial design, engineering, manufacturing and expert input from a number of other professional fields. PiM blends traditional and innovative methodologies to identify breakthrough opportunities, develop growth strategies and consumer-inspired new products; and literally align our organizational strategy and design in a way that supports sustainable innovation. Bringing our knowledge and experience to bear in important key technologies such as ICT, engineering, and sustainable energy, we assist our clients in translating their ideas into action helping them to make their projects a success. We do this mostly via the uptake of European funding opportunities across various community programmes when possible.
Focus on Renewable Energy
Projects in Motions’ aims in the renewable energy sector are to increase the knowledge of the need for sustainable development, and to help developing awareness for an intelligent use of energy and reduce energy requirements through local initiatives.
Projects in Motion has also established a start-up called Renewable Habitats Ltd (www.renewablehabitats.com) which is focused on using Concentrated Solar Power technology in novel applications like desalination and solar cooling; and the application of heat pumps using sea water as a heat source.
Focus on dissemination and structured dialogue
We also conduct research, dissemination and structured dialogue on a wide range of social topics and combine robust qualitative and quantitative methods with innovative analysis and thinking, while conducting continuous monitoring of social and cultural trends.
We also focus on other issues and topics simply because we find them important and interesting; and because we can.
Sharing knowledge effectively is the key to our success!
