Bio
Brian Restall started his career at the Malta Council for Science and Technology (MCST) and held the post of FP6 Projects Coordinator and Research Assistant to the Policy Unit. Since then Brian has been responsible for sourcing and managing the scientific / administrative tasks for numerous R&D projects running under the 5th, 6th and 7th Framework programme; and under the Leonardo, Intelligent Energy, Interreg, and Plan D programmes.
Here at PiM, Brian is entrusted with the role of providing a coherent approach for projects which PiM is involved in, while creating a link between the individual project managers responsible for the execution of all project deliverables and management. He is also responsible for establishing standard practices and procedures to be followed across all projects, while ensuring a smooth flow of the operations. He also read for a PhD in Environmental Managament and Planning at the Institute of Earth Systems, UoM and his research interests are mostly in the area of environmental management/conservation and sustainable development. He dedicates the rest of his free time to various social responsibilities, and provides ad-hoc support to local NGOs.

Bio
Stefan graduated from the University of Applied Sciences Bremen, Germany in 2007 with a German Diploma in International Political Management, (Dipl. Pol.) and with a M.A. in European Studies from the University of Malta. His key areas of interest are energy policy analysis, communitarisation of energy legislation, and the implementation of renewable energy systems and energy efficiency options in Europe and the Mediterranean region. Before coming to Malta he worked at the Bremen International Graduate School of Social Sciences. At Projects in Motion, Mr. Schaa is responsible for managing a number of EU energy research and dissemination projects. He is currently responsible for the national implementation of the “Flick the Switch”, “ComeOn Labels” and “European Citizens’ Climate Cup” project, all funded under the Intelligent Energy Europe programmes.

Electrical Engineer

Bio
Katia graduated in Electrical Engineering from the University of Malta in 1999 following which she was employed at STMicroelectronics (Malta) Ltd. During this time Katia worked in Quality Assurance providing support in quality related issues to the company's Set-Top-Box and DVD IC customers. Following a 3 month internship at ST Grenoble, France, Katia was responsible for the setup up of Advanced Failure Analysis Lab in the Malta plant. This included defect detection equipments such as hot spot analysis, EMMI, delayering and advanced SEM analysis. For a period of 2 years, Katia was also responsible for the STMicroelectronics(Malta) Reliability Laboratory that performed lifetime testing on the semiconductor devices and detection of infant mortality problems. Standard tools used to interface with the customers include the 8D methodology and report writing, FMEA, TOPS & SPC.

Bio
Daniele is a Belgian lawyer who holds a Licentiate in Law awarded by the University of Antwerp and a postgraduate degree in Economic Law from the University of Brussels. Ms. Cop has contributed to the submission of several funding proposals. She supports our office on any legal advice we might require from time to time and contributes towards any desk research we might require for our projects. She has also carried out research on Gender in Employment issues, as part of a Centre of Excellence Civil Society project co-ordinated by the European Documentation and Research Centre of the University of Malta and supported by the European Commission.

Damian is responsible for all elements of project management: bidding, contract negotiation, scheduling, coordination and on-site management, scheduling, budgeting, quality control, personnel and subcontractor management and safety.
Damian provides us with sound financial information through cost estimates and cost reporting tools. He also serves as a resource for creative problem solving throughout projects, while ensuring our commitment to recycling and sustainable building practices in the work place and our deliverables.
